Agency Scoops Marketing Award After Helping Client To Achieve Record Growth

The Pulse Rooms Scoop North East Marketing Award

A growth agency based in Tyneside recently took home a regional marketing award after its work helped a client to surpass its revenue targets.

The Pulse Rooms was named as the overall winner in the ‘Brand Creation of the Year (Agency)’ category at the 2021 North East Marketing for its work with CBK Adventures - a water-based outdoor adventure company that originated in Cullercoats. The annual awards recognise excellence within the fields of marketing, digital and PR from all industry sectors.

Judges for the category commended The Pulse Rooms for creating a powerful brand that went beyond the visual and became more about how it made people feel. They highlighted the fact that the brand not only empowered staff and boosted confidence, but also enabled an immediate commercial growth in sales.

Andrew Young, Director of Brand and Communication at The Pulse Rooms, said: “It is a huge honour to be recognised alongside the region’s top marketing talent. We were delighted to have just been named as a finalist in the category, so to be chosen by the judges as the overall category winner was the icing on the cake.

“This has been a passion project from the get-go and we’d like to thank the team at CBK Adventures for trusting us to develop and implement a new-look brand. They continue to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to continuing to support them as a growth partner.”

In 2020, The Pulse Rooms started a four-month process to redevelop and relaunch the CBK Adventure’s brand, as well as implement a growth and communications strategy. This change was motivated by the business’s expanding geographical reach and its drive to double revenue within the next five years.

Since introducing the new brand, CBK Adventures has continued to flourish, with a record summer season and a series of features in national media publications. Revenue generated through its water-based activities has increased by 73% in the last 12 months. The business has also experienced an 82% year-on-year increase in revenue across retail.

In addition to its work with CBK Adventures in the tourism sector, The Pulse Rooms has international clients within the fitness, technology and third sectors. Its full-service offering also includes growth strategy, graphic design, immersive technology (AR/VR), website development, and PR.

Harvey Trent, Director of Strategic Marketing and Growth at The Pulse Rooms, added: “When we approach any creative branding project, we always look at it through a lens of growth. We focus on first getting to the heartbeat of the business by talking to staff, partners and customers. Using these insights, we then activate a clear brand strategy and amplify the core messages through the most effective communication channels.

“Growth doesn’t happen overnight, so we look to travel with a business through a period of 1,000 days to ensure long-term success.”
